Inspired Look: Tory Burch Summer Style

I recently received an email from Tory Burch with the outfit featured above and fell in love with this look. All the pieces it includes are classic items that can be mixed and matched with your summer wardrobe. I do love Tory Burch, and have some of her staple pieces, but purchasing this whole outfit would be way out of my budget! So I found more affordable pieces below. The JCrew jeans are a little pricey, but I threw them in the mix since I purchased them on sale last year and they have become one of my favorite summer pieces. I was surprised to see how many items from this look I already have in my closet! Definitely an easy to recreate look I will get a lot of use out of for this summer :)

Cynthia Vincent for Target

I was lucky enough to snag a pair of the new Cynthia Vincent for Target shoes today (shown in the ad above) during a lunch shopping trip. After having no luck finding a pair over the weekend, I was ecstatic to see a few pairs left today, and better yet one pair in my size! The wedges sold out online by mid-day Sunday after their launch, so I was left to hunt them down in store. At $29.99 they are a steal! Especially compared to the higher end version, the Luella (seen below), which sells at $350. There are still a few styles left online and in store, so grab 'em while you can!

Aspiring to be a Fashion Designer?

Now you can with the new Project Runway game for Wii! Although I don't own a Wii, and really have no desire for one, I think this would be a fun game to try. You get to create and model designs for challenges - from designing the clothes to doing the models hair and makeup. Then use the Wii controls and balance board to strut the runway in front of the judges. You can also put on a photo shoot or just play a mini game in the Fashion Career Mode. I'm sure this game will please all you Project Runway fans who want to get in on the action.

Fab or Flop: Dove Nutrium Body Wash

I am always a fan of trying new products, so I decided to give Dove Nutrium Body Wash a chance for a few weeks. I normally am not a fan of Dove bath products; as a friend once told me "you're better off washing with dish soap." But having read a few promising reviews about their new nutrium moisture technology, I decided to give Dove a second chance. As a regular body wash, this was okay, but I wouldn't call it moisturizing. It has a fresh clean sent and a little goes a long way, but it always left me grabbing for my body lotion right after getting out of the shower. Unfortunately, I would have to say Dove Nutrium Body Wash is a Flop. I can't wait to finish the bottle and lather up with my old favorite - Olay Quench Body Wash.

Trends to Look For from Fashion Week

As always, Fashion Week sets some of the trends you will see this coming Fall. This year featured turtlenecks, capes, stylishly big pants, patchwork, shearling, velvet, belted layers and pleated minis. Some colors to make sure to add to your wardrobe are camel and winter white, and if your daring, graffiti patterns.

Turtlenecks will be a great new item to incorporate into your layering pieces; as well as capes and belts. I can't say I'm a big fan of baggy pants or patchwork, but if it looks great on you, go for it! However, I am excited for pleated minis. Don't wait until fall to wear a mini, ruffles are in for this Spring and you can score a great ruffled skirt from Express! The velvet reminded me of dresses I had as a little girl, but I did find a great velvet dress by Juicy Couture that I feel was a great addition to my closet.

The fashion world lost a beloved designer on Thursday, February 11th, a "true master" as WWD called him, took his life at age 40, only days before the New York's Fashion Week (you can view the article here). His death shocked many, and is sure not to be soon forgotten. McQueen was known for his extraordinary designs which brought a fresh new prospective to fashion. May his creative vision live on.
